Is a guest certificate needed if an immediate family member (son) with the same last name is checking in?

I suppose it depends on the resort but I have given weeks to my children for resorts in Minnesota and Wisconsin and just called the resort to tell them my adult son/daughter and families would be coming that week. Never had a problem...

Born2Travel,

Technically, anyone besides you must have a Guest Certificate in order to use your exchange vacation. However, resorts do vary in how they enforce the Guest Certificate policy. Be sure to contact the resort in advance, and even then there is no guarantee. If the person at the front desk requires a Guest Certificate, your guest will be inconvenienced while they contact RCI to have one faxed. I have personally received such calls in the past, so I know that some resorts are very strict. You will definitely want to find out about your confirmed resort specifically before sending your guest.
