Madge, I have asked this question to a couple of different RCI VCs and received different answers. I have also tried to find the answer in the Rules and disclosure documents, but have not found the answers.

What are the numbers of additional members allowed as "Joint Members" on a Weeks account and a points account?

Are there differences in what is allowed between a member and a "joint member"? For example: Can both type of members spacebank their resorts and do exchanges.

cclendinen,

There can be up to seven total subscribers listed on one RCI Points account - two primary and five joint subscribers. All subscribers have the same privileges. Because the Weeks system only holds two names, it may be necessary for a Guide to complete any Weeks exchanges for your joint subscribers to be sure that their names appear on the confirmations.

Madge,
As a follow-up question. I assume that any of the seven members listed on a points account can have the exchange listed in their names without paying for a guest certificate.

If this is correct and if a week's account comes with a points account, shouldn't all seven of the points account members be able to have there name on a resort papaer work for a weeks exchange through the week's account even if they are not one of the two members listed on the weeks account. And should they also not have to pay for a guest certificate?

cclendinen,

If you are confirming a Weeks exchange using your points, then any of the seven joint owners on the Points account may travel without the cost of a Guest Certificate (one must still be added, you simply are not charged).

When you have a separate Weeks account, only the two subscribers listed on that account can be served (plus spouses) unless a Guest Certificate is purchased.

When you say "seperate weeks account" are you referring to an additional weeks account or the weeks account that is included with a points membership.

cclendinen,

An RCI Weeks account that you use to deposit and exchange weeks, separate from your Points membership, is subject to the rules of the RCI Weeks program. I am not speaking of the Weeks exchange benefits that are part of an RCI Points membership. When you are using points for exchange transactions, all subscribers on the Points account can be served.

Would it be possible to clairfy the following. If I am the RCI Points account holder and the account is only in my name, I book the resort but my spouse visits the resort by herself with friends, then this would not require a Guest Certificate, correct?

I realize that for simplicity sake, I could simply add her to the membership, but if I do not want to, then would a signed letter be sufficient?

rpsmason,

Spouses should always be able to receive service from RCI and check into confirmed resorts. If they anticipate any trouble (say the last names don't match), they might want to bring along a letter or copy of the marriage certificate.
