I have an exchange into the NH-Zandvoort starting June 4. I have been emailing them, but am getting no response. I was looking to get some logistical information before I got there. Perhaps someone on TUG has been there or knows of the information. Is there internet access at or near the resort, and if so, where, and at what price? I'd also like to find any information on doing laundry there, and transportation to the resort from Schilpol Airport. Anyone have any info? Thanks in advance. ------------------ Those are my principles. And if you don't like them, well, I have others. IP: Logged |

Hoc,Can't answer your question directly. However, check out this website for cyber cafes worldwide: http://www.cybercafes.com/ Also this site for Easy Internet Cafes in Major Cities, http://www.easyeverything.com/ and this NetCafe Guide web site which was recently acquired by World66. This site historically has been more comercial than the above cyber cafe site. http://www.world66.com/netcafeguide Hope this helps. Regards Richard IP: Logged |

We were there in January and my husband thinks he saw a computer with internet access in the lounge. There also was an internet connection in the apartment if you bring your own laptop. In the Haltestraat 61 there is the 'Beachnet computercentrum', they say (on their website) they are the cheapest internetcafe in the area. For doing laundry you could try the Centerparcs resort, a big resort with many facilities, I am sure they have a laundry, only not sure if non-residents can use it. The Centerparcs resort is nearby on the boulevard. The NH hotel will have laundry service as well, but probably at high rates (price per piece). To get to Zandvoort from Schiphol it is best to take a taxi. It's about 30 kms so it cannot cost really much (probably about 50 Euro). There will be lots of taxis on the airport. If you want to make an advancebooking and try to get the lowest price, just try Google 'Schiphol taxi'. Should you prefer public traffic you'll have to change trains twice or take a bus to Haarlem and from there take the train to Zandvoort. Then walk to the hotel (about 15 minutes). Not easy with luggage.Hope this info helps. Have a nice time in our beautiful country! Loes [This message has been edited by Loes (edited 05-20-2005).] IP: Logged |

When I was there I used my laptop and wireless access which was very fast. You have to buy a card at the front desk, one for each 24 hour period, which has a scratch off access code on it. It worked great, but I think each card was 15 Euros, so not cheap.I think I did see a computer in the lobby area, but can't remember. I use my own anyway. I would rent a car, if possible. There's so much to see in the area and a car would really help. I found driving in Holland was easy and the car wasn't all that expensive (I think I went through Hertz). The car rentals are right outside the terminal so that makes it easy to get going with luggage. The resort is somewhat isolated, but on a beautiful part of the coast. It may be difficult to find the first time, but follow RCI's directions exactly and you can't go wrong. I'd highly recommend Maurishuis in Den Haag...beautiful Vermeers there and the building itself a masterpiece. Amsterdam is a short drive from the resort (30 to 40 minutes maybe) and parking isn't cheap, but not too much of a problem to get, at least when I was there. The Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum have their own underground parking which is reasonable, but it's hard to find the one and only entrance. Actually Zandvoort itself is a pretty nice town to see, but the resort is on one end of it and you'd need taxis to get there without a car. I didn't do laundry when I was there so I can help with that. I would think that there would be a coin laundry somewhere in Zandvoort, but the front desk is very helpful and I'm sure they'd know. Have a great trip! The resort is fantastic and I'm sure you'll love it! [This message has been edited by arfie (edited 05-20-2005).] IP: Logged |

From my TUG review posted after our August 2002 trip:"The resort had one computer in the lobby for internet use. It cost €12.50 for a 90-minute card. The 30 or maybe 60 minute cards were €10. A PlayStation was also in the lobby. It was free of charge." We ended up renting a car for a few days. It was a good decision for us. Taking the train into Amsterdam worked well for our family, YMMV. Have a great trip! Faith IP: Logged |
