Are any of you as frustrated with www.redweek.com and www.myresortnetwork.com as I am? Neither want to help sell / buy point-based TS packages. Worldmark, Club Intrawest and Monarch Grand Vacations are all point based TS with no home resorts, yet both Redweek and Myresortnetwork have no way to list or search for these type of offering. The only way to see the offering in these companies is to look at each location separately. What a pain. When I contacted Redweek that said it would be too much of a hassle. (But of course it isn’t too much of a hassle to ask us to pay to see what is for sale.) They could have a generic listing for each company with links to the resorts. And / or have a link at the bottom of each resort which brings you to the central generic listings for these companies. What do you think?

I completely agree. Did you ask MyResortNetwork about it? I've given up on Redweek - didn't renew my membership. I don't think the buyer should have to pay to view.Caroline IP: Logged |

http://www.timesharegateway.com/ wants to advertise and sell points ownerships. Enter points as the keyword in Search All Resorts. Drop by the forum there to tell them what you need on the site. IP: Logged |

Hmm, well what that could mean is that it is a more demanding programming project to take on such a task and come up with meaningful, easy to use searches that people would be happy with.

The programming would be trivial. Just call "points" a destination. A simple statement that "points" should be used as the destination when a search was conducted for all points-based systems would suffice to enable users to call-up all such memberships. IP: Logged |

Myresortnetwork, com just got back to me about this subject and said that they just added to their listing a place for point based timeshare companies. One is for worldmark points and an other is for generic points for sale. The generic point for sale will be expanded to cover the other TS point based companies in the near future.Nice response www.myresortnetwork.com !! ------------------ Bill [This message has been edited by Bill4728 (edited 05-13-2005).] IP: Logged |

Wow,great news! This is an example of why I hope MyResortNetwork.com succeeds wildly and runs Redweek out of business!(charging my potential buyers and/or renters to see my ad is a terrible business model; it deserves to go bankrupt and serve as the textbook example of how not to run a business at all the universities.) I've always liked MyResortNetwork.com best. Another feature I like is that little link they have that lets me see ALL TS for rent or sell in CO (for example). How efficient! Just what I wanted to see! Conversely, many TUGGERS have commented how they like Redweeks' layout. I hate it! Why would I want to click four screens deep on each and every resort before I learn if they have a week remotely close to dates I want for rent/sell. Then back out 4 clicks, then back in four clicks....repeat for dozens of resorts? Maybe if you were interested in one and only one resort, then you'll find that 'efficient'. I believe it's programed that way for all the wrong reasons. Redweek.com is owned by the Classmates.com outfit. THey built that Classmates model assuming you'd go to your city, then your graduation date, then look for classmates. They also believe they can charge the interested person $10 or $20 to 'view' his/her schoolmates in the database.....they artificailly carry that business model to their Redweek site. WHat a lousy idea! Unfortunetlay, I don't shop for TS's that way. Please don't force-feed your inefficient software/business model on TS that way. (I actually went to the effort to write them 2 years ago. They arrogantly think they don't need to change a thing. Anyway, thanks Craig Carty and the MyResortNetwork staff. I for one appreciate your customer responsiveness and wish you great success! Hat IP: Logged |
