Last night I spent an hour at the Milpitas Embassy Suites with a company called Timeshare Relief, LLC. They claimed that you must get rid of the timeshare you are unhappy with or your heirs will be stuck with the m/f and taxes after you pass on. They showed some quick “proof” from Florida Supreme Court decisions and Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection web site. “Timeshare Ownership… Not the slice of paradise you thought it would be?” Well this group had the answer for all your problems. Just pay them 7 times the Maintenance Fees & Taxes and they will try to put your worthless time share to use. I said you could sell it with tug2.com or Timesharing Today. They said TST was bought out by Cendant and never sells anything. I said no way. When I became quite upset, the company sleepers that had been potential customers participating as such, these sleepers suddenly woke-up and invited me to leave. I refused and told all the “genuine customers” that they can sell their units on tug2.com or Timesharing Today magazine. After that I told the potential customers I would be in the lobby if they needed more information. The sleepers and the company “officials” said they would call security, I said go ahead. After I left the room, all the potential customers met with me in the lobby and I began to impart tug truths. The sleepers and co. officials joined in vain attempt to deter me from my mission. I let them have the truth and called them to task, calling them the same names that they said the timeshare developers were. I told them that they were worse than them because they gave nothing but grief to the timeshare owners. Not relief, grief. My question to all of you, have you heard of Timeshare Relief? They plan on leaving San Jose and going to Denver and Tampa. Is Timesharing Today bought out by Cendant? What do you think?

It certainly doesn't sound like it based on this page from the TS Today website.Good for you for speaking up and hopefully saving some unsuspecting other folks from falling prey to this group. How did they rope you in to being there in the first place? IP: Logged |

I was curious and had the time. I wondered what my studio at Ocean Landings was worth to their company. They are interested in anything they can get. My maintenance fee for this week 52/53 unit is $160.00 taxes are included. For $1,200 they would relieve me of my precious jewel. I love this hot trader! It got me a Royal Resort in June!------------------ timesharing since the 90's, the only way to vacation, Time is Now! IP: Logged |

Gee, you advised people top sell timeshares through a newsgroup and a magazine? Why didn't you just get them to use Century 21 at the resort where you own that great unit?------------------ Glenn "and all that you touch and all that you see is all your life will ever be." Pink Floyd IP: Logged |

I applaud your gutsy effort. I'm not exactly sure what Glenn is trying to say, but you did those people a big favor. Sounds like this company needs to stay on the move.IP: Logged |

You pay them for to take your timeshare off your hands. You could give it away and pay nothing![This message has been edited by bill/tug (edited 11-20-2008).] IP: Logged |

I recently received a postcard from "Timeshare Solutions, LLC." I suspect this may be something similar -- they seem to be offering a "solution" for people who want to get rid of their timeshares.I don't think I will have time to do meet with them, however. (They are only in town until Monday.) But now I feel kind of bad about not going -- if this outfit is like the one the OP went to, it would be good to have a Tugger there to give out better information! IP: Logged |

Thanks Dave for the similar info. I guess these parasites are out there and we need to be en guarde.Judy you are so right, we need to confront the scammers, shame them, and educate future tuggers! ------------------ timesharing since the 90's, the only way to vacation, Time is Now! IP: Logged |

WOW! What a great scam. I can start up a company, get people to give me seven years of MF's AND the deed to their TS. Then I can turn around and rent it out for whatever I can get for the next seven years and pocket the profit. At the end of seven years I can put it up as a no reserve auction of E-Bay, dump it for next to nothing and pocket that cash as a profit as well.No investment, all profit. Sounds like a great business to me. I only wish I was smart enough and heartless enough to do it. I'm afraid I couldn't sleep at night if I did that to people.
