Question::I am having a bit of a problem with www.timesharetransfers.com. We are in the process of buying my neighbor's summer week at Port O'Call on Hilton Head and I can't seem to get it finished.. Do you know of a another timeshare closing company that is as inexpensive as timeshare transfer and is competent to close this property? Another question::Is it true that closing on a HH property is very difficult and you need a lawyer to finish the transaction?

I'm assuming you mean www.timesharetransfer.com .Timeshare Closing Services is comparable, but just like with Timeshare Transfer, closings don't always go as smoothly as one would like. Also, since you have presumably committed to pay or have already paid Timeshare Transfer, do you really want to pay a second fee for this closing and start all over, thus further extending the time it will take to close, versus finishing the current closing? And, yes, an attorney should be involved for a South Carolina closing. See this TUG thread.IP: Logged |

Ref: Needing an Attorney for S.C. closings ..... I live in VA and will be using a Licensed Real Estate Broker from CA to close on an SC timeshare. Is it or is it not true that a Licensed Broker can conduct closings the same as an Attorney?IP: Logged |

The linked thread speaks for itself. At least one SC law firm is insisting that an attorney must be involved if you are getting professional assistance. What the courts will rule is anyone's guess.Whether you decide to use an attorney or use an entity that doesn't believe there is such a requirement is up to you. IP: Logged |

If you had asked for a recommendation, without naming a company, I would have recommended Susan Gale at Timeshare Transfer.I believe they have handled three for us. What seems to be the problem? ------------------ 16 years timesharing/80 exchanges/Branson-Table Rock Lake boat rides Interests: Buying/Selling/Renting/Donating/Exchanging/Searching Florida/Kauai/SOCAL/Colorado/Missouri/Arkansas/Iowa/Ohio Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Priceline/Hotwire/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living IP: Logged |

I am asking because I don't believe I have ever seen a post with "Timeshare Transfer" and a problem. There were those threads early on, when Tia and Susan left Prodox, with some of us in the middle of transactions, but we did a pretty good job of clearing that up. Like I said, I have nothing but praise for them since then. From the sparse discussion so far it sounds like the "problem" may not be one with "Timehsare Transfer", and if that is the case that should be made clear, I would think. We bend over backwards here to not discredit good companies. ------------------ 16 years timesharing/80 exchanges/Branson-Table Rock Lake boat rides Interests: Buying/Selling/Renting/Donating/Exchanging/Searching Florida/Kauai/SOCAL/Colorado/Missouri/Arkansas/Iowa/Ohio Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Priceline/Hotwire/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living IP: Logged |

I am not unhappy with them. It is my seller who wants another closing service and withdrew it from Susan Gale. I just want a timely transfer without infuriating my seller. I'll try one of the other closing agencies mentioned in this thread. I meant No Disrepect to Susan Gale or Timeshare transfer in general. Maybe I should have made that clear since so many tuggers use that service. She seemed like a competent agent when I spoke with her. But having read this thread, I now have to wonder why she never mentioned a Lawyer in SC. I only found out about it when I mentioned my Hilton Head deal to the agent at www.timesharetitlesandmore.com during a conversation I was having with her about a Disney contract that I am selling. quote: Originally posted by JLB: I am asking because I don't believe I have ever seen a post with "Timeshare Transfer" and a problem. After reading so many posts about Timeshare Transfer we are using them now for the first time selling a week. So far, I'm not impressed with Susan at all. It's been almost 4 weeks and we're still waiting on the paperwork that she said we'd receive in 2 weeks. Communication hasn't been very good either. I'm not overly concerned yet, but certainly not overwhelmed by their service either.

I had a very bad experience with Susan at Timeshare Transfer. Things can come up which slow down a closing. She, however, showed an inexcusable lack of professionalism in handling the situation. I would not recommend her to anyone. At the suggestion of several TUGGERS, I gave Timeshare Transfer another try using Tia as the closing officer. She was wonderful! Excellent communication, good follow through, very professional. It's amazing the difference. I would highly recommend Tia, and I will use her in the future. It's not just the closing company you use...it makes a huge difference which closing officer you work with. Steve IP: Logged |

Marilyn:Thanks for the clarification. At least I assume the money is in escrow, until everyone performs. I've only used Tia at Timeshare Transfer, but have found her to be excellent in all respects. She even dealt with not one, but two failed closings for me where the seller backed out in the middle of the process. She did so with grace and professionalism.I have always received all correspondence (including payments) from her much quicker than I expected based on her estimates. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone. Sheila [This message has been edited by sfwilshire (edited 04-24-2005).] IP: Logged |

Originally posted by JLB: Have you told Susan what you are telling the rest of the world here? To answer this question regarding my own experience, I did indeed try to tell Susan my feelings regarding the transaction. I left her two telephone messages which she failed to return.
Then I sent her two different email messages describing the situation. In both emails I also asked her to call me on the telephone so we could discuss the situation. She ignored my first email completely. She did respond to my second email, but only with an abrupt statement that my deed was in the mail to me. She completely refused to address my concerns regarding the service I received. After receiving that email, I called Timeshare Transfer and expressed my frustration to an employee (who I shall not name except to say it wasn't Tia). This employee was very nice and told me that I was certainly not alone in having a complaint regarding Susan. So, apparently there is a pattern here of bad customer service. When I received lousy service from Susan, I geve her multiple chances to make it right. Not only would she not make the situation right, she utterly refused to even acknowledge the problem or discuss it with me. I found this rather amazing, and I think it is information that TUGGERS have a right to know when choosing a closing agent. On the other hand, Tia was fantastic when I used her for my most recent transaction. So, although I normally wouldn't single out an employee for criticism on a public bulletin board, I feel it is completely appropriate in this circumstance. Timeshare Transfer is a good company, but choose wisely when picking a closing officer. Steve [This message has been edited by Steve83014 (edited 04-24-2005).] IP: Logged |

I linked this thread to them. Maybe they will comment.I'm not trying to waffle, but my first post about Susan was not complimentary, because she left me hanging in the middle of a sale at Prodox, and when I posted, the assembled masses here put me in my place. I concluded the majority of the blame in that case was with Prodox, and I think time has verified that. Since then Susan has done fine for us. It makes sense that in any group you deal with someone can rub you the wrong way and someone else can rub you the right way. We all feel much better getting rubbed the right way. Internet forums exist for all of to share our experiences. ------------------ 16 years timesharing/80 exchanges/Branson-Table Rock Lake boat rides Interests: Buying/Selling/Renting/Donating/Exchanging/Searching Florida/Kauai/SOCAL/Colorado/Missouri/Arkansas/Iowa/Ohio Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Priceline/Hotwire/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living

My posting is not meant to say that Timeshare Transfer's is not a good closing company. We chose this company to close our week because of all the glowing reviews from TUG and, up until now, I didn't recall seeing a negative post about them on this BBS. Obviously there are some that have not had good experiences. quote: Originally posted by JLB: Have you told Susan what you are telling the rest of the world here?
If I hadn't seen our reps name singled out as being a great rep then I would not have purposely brought up the fact that our experience so far indicates the opposite. Perhaps she's overloaded and the rest of our transaction will be better. For me, I'll withold judgement until we've completed our transaction. -Matt (edited to add quote for clarification)

It has been perhaps three years but TIA was exceptional for us. Even when I insisted on extra attention to detail on a Vistana purchase. She was exceptional.Dick IP: Logged |
